free writers movie
how do i split a large file (ex. a movie about 760 mb) and burn it to a cd?
actually, i have few questions.
1. i downloaded a movie having a file size of 760+ mb ( a movie, actually) and i want to record it in a cd but it won’t fit with today’s recordable CDs. the only recording device i now have is a cd writer and most cds i found have a maximum capacity of 700mb. can i split the movie and record/write it in two CDs, say for example one cd runs for 1 hour and the other cd runs for 30 mins?
2. what programs/softwares available free can i use to split the movie so that it would fit in 2 (or 3) cds and can still be played in a video-cd player?
3. i have a dvd player that can play video and audio cds. can movies with mpeg file extensions and those playable in windows media player be played in cd players? what file extensions are playable in cd players (if i can convert their formats)?
1) Yes you can split it. videohelp.com/tools, look for AVI splitters and joiners
2) NOT so easy. In general, what you downloaded (I honest hope you don’t mean PIRATED) is an AVI file, and that means you have to transcode that to MPEG1 in order to make VCD out of them, not to mention shrink the rez down to VCD dimensions (those files are generally 640×480 or higher)
3) Probably NOT, VCD requires specific directories and files, not just a list of files and dimensions. See videohelp.com for format specs.
